Andy is already sleeping, so here is my little woohoo! to the world: Small Earth Vintage just had our 500th sale on Etsy! And I'm happy that number 500 was this pretty little number, a 1950s silk polka-dot dress from Saks Fifth Avenue.
We signed up on Etsy in October 2008, a little over a year ago, but didn't start really listing regularly until this past April or May. Selling on Etsy has totally revitalized the business. Not to mention, it's really, truly been fun. I mean, come on. Etsy has bought me shoes and the shop got a great write-up from LuckyMag.com. I've made the acquaintance of lots of wonderful vintage fans--both customers and fellow sellers. It's been a fantastic first year.
(I think 500 means we deserve a return visit to Restaurant Bloom for a New Old Fashioned and some crispy pork belly.)
Big huge THANK YOUs to everyone for supporting us! We love you.

ReplyDeleteJessica, we *did* celebrate tonight, but sorry, no pics. We went to Restaurant Bloom, and it was absolutely delicious.
G, I had two New Old Fashioneds. I'm assuming the "new" part is that they were made with Makers Mark. Sometimes Old Fashioneds are a little sweet for me, but these were just perfect. They had some kind of mash of orange rind-y goodness at the bottom that I kind of wanted to scoop out and eat, on the assumption it was also chock full-o-bourbon. But I refrained.
CONGRATS all around! Excellent shop you have going and you deserve your success AND your Old Fashioned!
ReplyDeleteO WONDERFUL! So incredibly excited for you! Have a couple for me!

well then, I think I had a new old fashioned quite recently (though instead of an orange mash, the place used orange bitters ~ subtly amazing)
