fruit of the loom

When I hear "Fruit of the Loom" I think of guys in apple and grape costumes, selling men's underwear on TV.  But Fruit of the Loom also made cute dresses back in the day, like this 1950s floral print day dress.  (I don't know what's up with the weird light in this photo.  Andy wanted to take the photo here because of the pretty backdrop.)  I'm also wearing a vintage pink moonglow bracelet, and a less-vintage red plastic rose bead Tarina Tarantino bracelet.

You can see the print and details a bit better here, though I took the below photos in my living room this morning, in the dim light of an overcast sky, so they also aren't ideal.

  1. I had no idea that company made anything other than underwear! Your dress is really great and I love the close up shots.

  2. learn something new everyday! i didn't know that either! such a pretty print on your dress!

  3. Gorgeous dress, love the print!
Those Fruit of the Loom dresses are so hard to find.

  4. How neat, I've never come across a Fruit of the Loom dress before! I love the cheery flower print against the black background. :)

  5. Wow, Karen! I didn't know Fruit of the Loom made dresses! Love the pretty white trim! I agree w/ your Andy, wonderful background. Btw, where did you get your sandals? They're cute AND look comfortable too.

  6. Fruit of the Loom should go back to making dresses! What a cute print!

  7. So cute...I linked to your post in my blog post today...check it out!
