it was christmas eve, babe, in the drunk tank

The Pogues' "Fairytale of New York" is one of my favorite songs. It reminds me of being in New York with friends, in a warm bar while it snows outside. Which, in my opinion, is about as good as it gets. (I just learned via Google that Kirsty MacColl, who sings this song with Shane MacGowan, was killed while diving in Mexico in 2000. I had no idea! So sad.)

This shop preview is full of pretty party dresses and warm and cozy sweaters and coats, perfect for the Queen of New York City to wear while kissing on the corner and dancing through the night to swinging Sinatra.

Just stay out of the drunk tank, okay?

  3. I adore Kirsty MacColl but, unfortunately, when I listen to her music I too often visualize the details of her horrible and very sad death.
