my greedy wishlist, part 2

Part Two (and the last part, because even I have some shame!) of my holiday wish list.

You may think it odd that I don't have many vintage items on my lists (well, none at all on this one). My closets are already stuffed full with vintage. It's a business hazard.

So, aside from vintage, I love perfume and things that smell good. I have a ridiculous collection of perfume, which hasn't kept me from trying and loving one of the latest Serge Lutens scents, Fille en Aiguilles (see above, available at
Luckyscent.com). According to the Luckyscent blurb, fille en aiguilles means "girls in needles", referring apparently to pine needles, as the scent is a striking piney, camphorous blend with (hurrah!) a good deal of smoke. There is a also a touch of "candied fruit and spice." I seem to be really enjoying smoky notes combined with spicy and sweet ones nowdays (no surprise considering the season!). This is the first perfume in quite awhile to make me consider expanding my already-too-big collection.

Also from
Luckyscent.com, I am fascinated by this coffee and mint-scented Wash with Joe body wash.

And because I have an ongoing love affair with the scent and taste of cardamom, I have to have some of this Petrushka tea, which is flavored with cardamom, cloves, almonds and rose. It, too, comes from
Luckyscent, who, as it happens, is offering free FedEx Ground shipping on orders of $50 and more in the continental US through 12/31/09 with promo code december09. Ahem.

I love candles, and this is the time of year for my absolute favorite, L'Artisan's The et Pain d'Epices, which smells just like their Tea for Two perfume, and combines the scent of smoky lapsang souchong tea with sweet gingerbread. Delightful! Available at
Four Seasons.

And on the less pricey side, this
Pacifica Avalon Juniper perfume comes in the cutest owl bottle, and has a refreshing, wintry scent of juniper, heliotrope and grapefruit.

I have also been a fan of Pacifica's Mexican Cocoa candle, and though the candle doesn't have the strongest throw, they now carry the scent
in spray perfume. I wouldn't mind a bottle of that--now is the time to smell of the cozy spices like nutmeg, almond, clove and cinnamon. Which reminds me, the Pacifica Zanzibar Cinnamon Almond soy candle is ideal for this time of year.

And finally, my favorite sweet ever, gray and smoked salt caramels (covered in chocolate!) from
Fran's Chocolates.

May you all get what you're wishing for this holiday season!
